The Abbot Public Library in Marblehead is exhibiting work in a variety of media by members of the Swampscott Arts Association in the Virginia A. Carten Gallery. This retrospective show celebrates the Association’s 30 years of serving its local communities with art exhibits and demonstrations, and will be on view Friday, Jan. 4, through Tuesday, Jan. 29. All are invited to the opening gala on Saturday, Jan. 12, from 2-4 p.m.
The Swampscott Arts Association currently has 72 members, bringing together artists from several local communities including Swampscott, Marblehead, Lynn, Salem and Nahant. Many of the artists represented in the show are well known. Outstanding photographers Peggy Farrell and Herb Goldberg, along with award-winning artists Dr. Richard Pohl and K. Jean Fisher among many others, join longtime members Doris Avedikian and D. L. Kaulbach. It is with pride and pleasure that Swampscott Arts presents what promises to be “the best of the best” in artistic talent on the North Shore.
